MacAir Aviation and Aero Club (Visits: 5876) City: Dayton, Ohio


MacAir is the former Wright Patterson Aero Club which has been teaching people to fly since the 1940s.  MacAir is a full service flight training program from private pilot, to instrument, commercial, through ATP.  MacAir is an FAA approved Part 141 flight training program. 

MacAir is one of the largest and most experienced flight training programs in the area. With 18 instructors with a combined 328 years of flight training experience, and 24 aircraft and often over 750 flight hours per month, MacAir is the largest general aviation flight training program in Ohio. We are also the most affordable.  

MacAir is partnered with Clark State Community College to provide college flight training programs.  Through Clark State we offer a full range of college flight training courses.  Our partnership with Clark State allows a wide range of student financial air, student loans, VA benefits, and other programs to be easily used to support flight training. Clark State also allows students at other area high schools and colleges to cross register for classes.      

MacAir also runs the US Air Force School of Aerospace Medicines Aeromedical Aviation Laboratory where we teach the principles of flight toe Air Force Flight Surgeons.  

MacAir has 24 aircraft we use to supporting our programs including Cessna C152, 2 C-172s C-182, C207.  We also have 8 Piper Aircraft including 5 Warriors, 1 Acher, 1 Arrow and a Twin Seneca.  MacAir also operates 9 Cirrus SR-22 and 2 Pitt S-2B aircraft to support its operations. 

MacAir through our Aero Club provides an affordable way to learn and to continue flying.  We welcome people to come fly with us.
